Introduction:
The human body is composed of the five fundamental elements (Pancha Mahābhūtas). Imbalances in these elements can obstruct the natural flow of energy, eventually manifesting as disease. Chakras, as expressions of these elements within the body, reflect both emotional patterns and physiological functions.
In our foundational course, we explore chakras in depth to understand their swara resonance and how they can be influenced, not only through music, but also through time-tested daily practices. This approach is both scientific and experiential: scientific in its grounding in vibration, frequency, and resonance, and experiential in its ability to awaken awareness of one’s inner energetic landscape.
Rajam’s Gurukulam’s 15-session online course focuses on identifying where emotions reside within the body through the lens of chakras. While chakra activation is often seen as esoteric, we adopt a structured and integrative approach, bridging this ancient wisdom with Western anatomical perspectives and Ayurvedic principles. We further explore how vibrational influences interact with the parasympathetic nervous system and endocrine glands that regulate key bodily functions.
Course Inclusions
➢ Live, interactive sessions (with access to recordings for review)
➢ Interdisciplinary insights drawing from daily rituals, Ayurveda, Mantras, and Mudras
➢ Reflective assignments designed to support integration of learning into personal practice
Who is this course for?
This beginner-friendly program is designed for individuals interested in exploring the subtle body and emotional well-being—both physical and mental. No prior musical knowledge or healing experience is required. It is particularly suited for those curious about the therapeutic effects of music on the body and mind.
Course Objectives
1. To explore how organs of the human body may store and express emotional patterns, and how these are influenced by elemental imbalances.
2.To examine the vibrational relationships between swaras (musical notes), their microtonal variations (shruti), and the emotional and psychophysiological dynamics associated with each chakra.
3. To investigate the application of swara resonance as a tool for regulating energy flow, supporting emotional processing, and enhancing mind–body integration within a therapeutic context.
Course Outcomes
By the end of this module, participants will be able to:
• Identify patterns of emotional holding within specific organ systems and relate them to elemental imbalances, enabling informed selection of swaras and supportive practices for regulation. (Objective 1)
• Describe the vibrational correspondences between swaras and the seven primary chakras, and explain their relevance to emotional and physiological states. (Objective 2)
• Recognize and articulate chakra-based emotional patterns, and relate them to corresponding swara-based expressions within a therapeutic framework. (Objective 2)
• Analyze how microtonal variations (shruti) influence emotional states, attentional processes, and autonomic nervous system responses. (Objective 2 – deeper understanding)
• Apply foundational swara-based practices (Nāda Anusandhāna) to support emotional regulation, parasympathetic activation, and self-care within both personal and emerging therapeutic settings. (Objective 3)
