Rāga Remedy

Rāga Remedy courses introduce participants to the ancient Indian understanding of healing through sound, music, breath, and consciousness. Designed especially for beginners and the uninitiated, these courses explore how specific rāgas (melodic frameworks in Carnatic music) influence emotions, energy centres (chakras), mental well-being, and overall balance in daily life. Blending Music Therapy, mantra, meditation, and traditional wisdom with practical experiential learning, the courses offer a gentle and transformative journey into holistic wellness through the power of Nāda — the primordial sound.

Who is this for?

This course is intended for all who wish to explore the deeper dimensions of sound and its influence on life. It will particularly resonate with:

  • Individuals with a basic understanding of music who wish to experience its therapeutic potential.
  • Seekers of insights into Indic methodologies of healing through vibration.
  • Those curious about how musical frequencies interact with the human body.
  • Learners exploring the storage and expression of emotions through chakras and organs.
  • Seekers of knowledge on energy flow and emotional dynamics from an Indic perspective.
  • Learners with minimal or no formal musical training, who may be inspired to pursue the sacred art of Indian classical music upon discovering the power inherent in each note.
🎓Certification: Certificates will be granted to all participants.

Rāga Remedy — Level 1

Foundational Course

Eligibility

No prior music or healing experience required.

Course Overview

The human body is composed of the five fundamental elements (Pancha Mahābhūtas). Imbalances in these elements can obstruct the natural flow of energy, eventually manifesting as disease. Chakras, as expressions of these elements within the body, reflect both emotional patterns and physiological functions.

In our foundational course, we explore chakras in depth to understand their swara resonance and how they can be influenced — not only through music, but also through time-tested daily practices. This approach is both scientific and experiential: scientific in its grounding in vibration, frequency, and resonance, and experiential in its ability to awaken awareness of one's inner energetic landscape.

Rajams Gurukulam's 15-session online course focuses on identifying where emotions reside within the body through the lens of chakras. While chakra activation is often seen as esoteric, we adopt a structured and integrative approach, bridging this ancient wisdom with Western anatomical perspectives and Ayurvedic principles. We further explore how vibrational influences interact with the parasympathetic nervous system and endocrine glands that regulate key bodily functions.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • Identify patterns of emotional holding within specific organ systems and relate them to elemental imbalances, enabling informed selection of swaras and supportive practices for regulation.
  • Describe the vibrational correspondences between swaras and the seven primary chakras, and explain their relevance to emotional and physiological states.
  • Recognize and articulate chakra-based emotional patterns, and relate them to corresponding swara-based expressions within a therapeutic framework.
  • Analyze how microtonal variations (shruti) influence emotional states, attentional processes, and autonomic nervous system responses.
  • Apply foundational swara-based practices (Nāda Anusandhāna) to support emotional regulation, parasympathetic activation, and self-care within both personal and emerging therapeutic settings.
